Therefore, practicing Muslims recite it at least 17 times every day. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">It is also the chapter which Muslims first teach their children, the chapter which accompanies&nbsp; life\u2019s weighty decisions of business and matrimony, and the chapter to be read to loved ones as they are laid in their final resting places.&nbsp; It is with us in all of life\u2019s landmarks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">It is a beautiful invocation, a prayer to God, seeking Him alone for support and guidance, all the while bearing testimony that it is Him alone Who is worthy of being worshipped. Where is \u2018the straight path\u2019 we seek?&nbsp; Take a look: (HQ 6: 151-153)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" type=\"1\" start=\"2\"><li>GOD: It seems that most people on earth <em>do<\/em> believe in Him<strong>.<a href=\"#_ftn4\"><strong>[4]<\/strong><\/a><\/strong><\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">Even among the world\u2019s 16.3% unaffiliated, who do not identify with any particular religion, there are many who have stated in surveys that they <em>do<\/em> believe in a higher power.<a href=\"#_ftn5\">[5]<\/a> &nbsp;No matter which word is used to describe The Creator, the fact remains that the vast majority of us <em>does believe<\/em> in such a force.&nbsp; But each of us has our own manner of belief, one that might -or might not- accept the accounts offered by \u2018organized religion.\u2019&nbsp; This is quite natural.&nbsp; There is nothing on the entire earth as personal as one\u2019s exclusive relationship with one\u2019s creator.&nbsp; How can anyone outside of Myself and my Creator define it?&nbsp; And had I chosen to void, ignore, or simply downplay this relationship, it will still exist, independent of what I believe.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">Many of us find much to criticize in \u2018organized religion,\u2019 often someone else\u2019s, and sometimes our parents\u2019 or our own.&nbsp; Upon looking closer we will find that our disapproval -or disappointment- is neither in the \u2018religion\u2019 itself nor in its messenger, but rather <em>in how the followers of that \u2018religion\u2019 presented their faith to the world<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">This is quite obvious in the transcript of Deepak Chopra\u2019s CNN interview with Larry King: <a href=\"http:\/\/transcripts.cnn.com\/TRANSCRIPTS\/0005\/17\/lkl.00.html\">http:\/\/transcripts.cnn.com\/TRANSCRIPTS\/0005\/17\/lkl.00.html<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">Faithful persons\/Mu\u2019mineen demonstrate their \u2018Eman\u2019 or faith and trust in God by action, bearing witness that there is no God but God, The Unique, The Incomparable, the Worthy of trust and reverence, the One To Whom we are accountable.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" type=\"1\" start=\"3\"><li>Allah is NOT an uncommon word for \u201cGod.\u201d &nbsp;<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">People call The Creator by different names, usually related to the languages they speak.\u00a0 Many of us realize that the English word \u2018God\u2019 corresponds to the German \u2018Gott,\u2019 the French \u2018Dieu,\u2019 and the Spanish \u2018Dios.\u2019\u00a0 However, many of us might not realize that the corresponding word in Arabic is \u2018Allah,\u2019 and that any Jew, Christian, or Muslim whose language is Arabic would be using this word to stand for \u2018God\u2019.\u00a0 In fact, the Arabic <em>Bible<\/em> is all about \u2018Allah\u2019- in both its Old and New Testaments.<a href=\"#_ftn6\"><sup>[6]<\/sup><\/a>\u00a0 God has always been referred to as Elah, Eloah, Allah, in Aramaic, Hebrew<a href=\"#_ftn7\"><sup>[7]<\/sup><\/a>, and Arabic languages.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">\u2018Allah\u2019 also is a common term in many parts of the world where people do not speak Arabic.&nbsp; Most of these countries have Muslim majorities<a href=\"#_ftn8\"><sup>[8]<\/sup><\/a>.&nbsp; Visitors to other countries, such as Malta<a href=\"#_ftn9\"><sup>[9]<\/sup><\/a>, a Roman-Catholic Apostolic republic, often feel amazed upon discovering that the Maltese worship \u2018Alla\u2019 and fast <em>\u2018<\/em>Randan.\u2019<a href=\"#_ftn10\"><sup>[10]<\/sup><\/a>&nbsp; Having embraced their heritage,<a href=\"#_ftn11\"><sup>[11]<\/sup><\/a> <em>\u2018<\/em>Randan\u2019 is the Maltese word for the Christian season of Lent!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" type=\"1\" start=\"4\"><li>\u2018Rahmaan\u2019 and \u2018Raheem\u2019 are not similar attributes of God, as commonly believed.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">Lengthy research in the Qur\u2019an and in Arabic language AND grammar have shown that \u2018Al Rahmaan\u2019 is The Compassionate Creator.&nbsp; The term \u2018Rahmaan\u2019 in the Qur\u2019an does NOT occupy the place of an attribute comparative to \u2018Raheem\u2019, as most commentators have said, but rather carries the same weight as the word \u2018Allah (H.Q: 17:110).<a href=\"#_ftn12\"><sup>[12]<\/sup><\/a>&nbsp; Check it out &nbsp;HQ:25:59; 67:3.<a href=\"#_ftn13\">[13]<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">While God has many beautiful attributes, Allah is considered a \u2018Divine Utterance\/\u0644\u0641\u0638 \u062c\u0644\u0627\u0644\u0629\u2019 and Al Rahmaan seems to be of similar caliber.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">Rahmaan is therefore another name for Allah, it is unique to Him and relates to creation, as the entire 55<sup>th<\/sup> chapter called \u2018<a href=\"http:\/\/tanzil.net\/#55:1\">Suratul Rahmaan\u2019<\/a> indicates:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" type=\"1\" start=\"5\"><li>This compilation certainly IS gifted-guidance for the Aware \u2018al Mutaqeen.\u2019<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">Heedful, or Mindful is the chosen translation, but we glean further understanding of the meaning of \u2018taqwa\u2019 (Awareness) from the Qur\u2019an, since it does give us its antonym TWICE.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">An old Arabic saying goes, \u201cBy their opposites are all things known,\u201d<a href=\"#_ftn14\"><sup>[14]<\/sup><\/a> which is true.&nbsp; This specific issue is so drastically important today because there are those who see themselves as \u2018Heedful\u2019, \u2018Mindful\u2019, and \u2018God-conscious\u2019 while their actions in fact display the exact opposite:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">The antonym for \u2018taqwa\u2019 is \u2018udwaan,\u2019 which means \u2018aggression!\u2019<a href=\"#_ftn15\"><sup>[15]<\/sup><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">Enough said for today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\"><strong>The only way to understand any message and arrive at its intent is to apply the intellect in an unbiased reading of its entire original content.&nbsp; Translations or explanations are inevitably influenced by the knowledge\/background\/leanings of interpreters (this blog included).<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\"><strong>Peace unto all!&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\" \/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\"><a href=\"#_ftnref1\">[1]<\/a> Ra-ha-ma: to show kindness, compassion, tenderness, mercy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">\u2018Raahim:\u2019 he who, at a certain place in time, is being compassionate\/merciful.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">\u2018Raheem:\u2019 &nbsp;He who is always compassionate\/merciful.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">THE Raheem: The Unceasingly Compassionate\/Merciful.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\"><a href=\"#_ftnref2\">[2]<\/a> Hada: to guide, to grant, or gift something to someone you love, quoted in the Prophet\u2019s Hadith:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\"><em>\u201cGift one another, love one another.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">Also the term \u2018hedi,\u2019 the animals we slaughter for the love of God and then \u2018gift\u2019 the poor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">&nbsp;\u0627\u0644\u0647\u062f\u064a\u0629: \u0645\u0627 \u0623\u0647\u062f\u064a\u062a \u0645\u0646 \u0644\u064e\u0637\u064e\u0641 \u0625\u0644\u0649 \u0630\u064a \u0645\u0648\u062f\u0629 (\u0643\u0645\u0627 \u062c\u0627\u0621 \u0641\u064a \u0627\u0644\u062d\u062f\u064a\u062b: &#8220;\u062a\u0647\u0627\u062f\u0648\u0627 \u062a\u062d\u0627\u0628\u0648\u0627&#8221;). \u0648\u0627\u0644\u0647\u062f\u064a \u0645\u0646\u0647.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\"><a href=\"#_ftnref3\">[3]<\/a> Qa-wa-ma: Straight, upright.
