{"id":180,"date":"2020-11-17T02:40:56","date_gmt":"2020-11-16T22:40:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/iqralaan.wordpress.com\/?p=180"},"modified":"2022-12-30T09:27:30","modified_gmt":"2022-12-30T05:27:30","slug":"welcome-friends-day-8-hq-2-94-105-pages-1516","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/iqraprinciple.com\/ar\/welcome-friends-day-8-hq-2-94-105-pages-1516\/","title":{"rendered":"HQ 2: 94-105; pages 15+16."},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">Welcome Friends:&nbsp; <em>Ahlan wa sahlan<\/em>!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">Our reading has been an eye-opener, showing us where WE are going wrong.&nbsp; Perhaps we now understand better why so many Qur\u2019anic verses discuss Bani Isra\u2019eel.&nbsp; It wasn\u2019t solely for the benefit of early listeners that these verses were revealed.&nbsp; Listeners of later times have derived great benefit from knowing the symptoms of spiritual ailments, making correct diagnoses, and finding treatment in the Qur\u2019an.&nbsp; But through all the verses that discuss human failings, one flaw stands out above all others: Arrogance.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">Arrogance was behind the first disobedience ever committed; remember verse 2:34- when Satan refused to show respect to someone he perceived as \u2018lesser\u2019 than himself?&nbsp; That was the first time arrogance (kibr) was mentioned in the Qur\u2019an.&nbsp; The second time it was mentioned was in yesterday\u2019s reading, Verse 87.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">Arrogance is a FATAL FLAW that, besides despising other people and belittling their efforts, causes a person to ignore guidance.&nbsp; Such shall enter the gates of hell in an evil state indeed (16:29; 39:72; 40:76).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\"><strong>COMMENTS:&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" type=\"1\"><li>A challenge is presented in verses 94, 95, 96, with regard to people who say that the Hereafter is their alone.&nbsp; Asad writes in footnote 79 that this alludes to the Jewish belief that paradise is reserved for the children of Israel alone.&nbsp; We can name many other groups even today who say the same thing:&nbsp; \u201cParadise is ours alone!\u201d&nbsp; Perhaps a symptom of arrogance?<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"has-text-align-left wp-block-list\"><li>And then the portrayal of those who commit sins and actually send them \u2018ahead of\u2019 themselves.&nbsp; Beautifully explained by both M. Asad and Y.
