It ended by giving us one reason why God sent Messengers to mankind:&nbsp;Our Lord-Sustainer would not bring about the break-down\/expiry\/death\u2019 of wrong-doing townships without their people having been warned.&nbsp; This detail is very important!<sup> <a href=\"#_ftn1\" id=\"_ftnref1\"><sup>[1]<\/sup><\/a><\/sup><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\"><strong>COMMENTS:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">1.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Today\u2019s Reading continues, indicating the importance of our deeds and their results IN LIFE:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">Verse 132 shows us literally, that to each there are \u2018darajat,\u2019 as in further \u2018treading\/footing\u2019 related to what they had been doing\/ how they had been progressing, \u2018darajat\u2019 that raise them (in Life, as in HQ6:165; 43:32. See <a href=\"https:\/\/wordpress.com\/post\/iqralaan.wordpress.com\/233\">Blog Post Day 19<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/wordpress.com\/post\/iqralaan.wordpress.com\/348\">Blog Post Day 47<\/a> for the definition of \u2018da-ra-ja\u2019)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\"><em>There seems to be a misconception amongst most of us that the benefits of our good deeds are reserved for the afterlife.&nbsp; Do we not see the countless tangible benefits to be had, here, in this life?<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">Yusuf Ali\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.altafsir.com\/ViewTranslations.asp?Display=yes&amp;SoraNo=6&amp;Ayah=132&amp;toAyah=132&amp;Language=2&amp;LanguageID=2&amp;TranslationBook=4\">interpretation of this verse<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">Muhammad Asad\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.altafsir.com\/ViewTranslations.asp?Display=yes&amp;SoraNo=6&amp;Ayah=132&amp;toAyah=132&amp;Language=2&amp;LanguageID=2&amp;TranslationBook=7\">interpretation of this verse.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\"><em>Notice Asad\u2019s addition of the words \u2018shall be judged,\u2019 which are not in the Arabic.&nbsp;&nbsp; Asad, like many interpreters, obviously considered the \u2018darajat\u2019 here the \u2018degrees\u2019 of the Hereafter.&nbsp;<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\"><em>Interpreting the meanings of Qur\u2019an is not a simple task!&nbsp;<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">2.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Verses 133-134 assure listeners of the Self-Sufficiency of their Lord, versus their own temporary existence on earth, adding that what they are being promised shall indeed come to pass.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">In Verse 135 the Messenger \ufdfa is commanded to tell them to&nbsp;<strong>continue working \u2018upon\u2019 their position<\/strong>, indicating that where they stand should not be where they stop at, because they could rise if they tried!&nbsp; The Messenger is also told to inform them that he himself is WORKING (present continuous), and they shall indeed come to know to whom the Abode shall ultimately belong. The verse ends by stating that The Wrongdoers cannot achieve \u2018FalaaH\/Success!\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">(This seems to validate our understanding of verse 132.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">3.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Verses 136, 138-139 discuss several customs rife among the shirking, idol-worshipping tribes of the time, related to their committing infanticide, their animal sacrifices for other than God, their gender-bias as to who eats what, and their arguments with which they -in effect- seek to confuse people regarding their \u2018Deen\/ Accountability Standard.\u2019&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">Both verses 138<a href=\"#_ftn2\" id=\"_ftnref2\"><sup>[2]<\/sup><\/a> and 139 end by warning that God shall recompense\/repay them (what they deserve), first, for their fabrications\/lies, and secondly for THEIR DESCRIPTION,<sup> <a href=\"#_ftn3\" id=\"_ftnref3\"><sup>[3]<\/sup><\/a><\/sup>&nbsp; which indicates that they elaborated on the falsity, adding further description so as to convince.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">Let us stop for a moment and check the scenario mentioned in these verses to see whether it also speaks about OUR time:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"has-text-align-left wp-block-list\"><li>The foods consumed, devoid of God\u2019s Name being mentioned.<\/li><li>The negative practices that have become custom in a community.<\/li><li>The inviolable activities that are allowed or even encouraged.<\/li><li>The rhetoric, the talks, the discussions, the media etc.. with people echoing and forwarding fraudulent material.<a href=\"#_ftn4\" id=\"_ftnref4\"><sup>[4]<\/sup><\/a><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">The warning \u2018\u0633\u064a\u062c\u0632\u064a\u0647\u0645 \u0648\u0635\u0641\u0647\u0645\/sayajzeehim wasfahum\u2019 is very important (and chilling) to us today, at a time when we\u2019ve become accustomed to cruising the media, seeing how such attempts at selling us falsities constantly charge past rhetorical elaboration, to all kinds of tools, tactics, and trickery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">4.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Verses 137, 140 tell us about their human sacrifices, how slaughtering their own children was \u2018embellished\u2019&nbsp;\u0632\u064f\u064a\u0650\u0651\u0646&nbsp;\/zuyyina or \u2018made alluring\u2019 to the Shirkers (the idol-worshippers who shirked God by \u2018associating partners\u2019 with Him).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">Regarding verse 137, read Ali\u2019s notes <a href=\"https:\/\/www.altafsir.com\/ViewTranslations.asp?Display=yes&amp;SoraNo=6&amp;Ayah=137&amp;toAyah=137&amp;Language=2&amp;LanguageID=2&amp;TranslationBook=4\">here<\/a> and Asad\u2019s note <a href=\"https:\/\/www.altafsir.com\/ViewTranslations.asp?Display=yes&amp;SoraNo=6&amp;Ayah=137&amp;toAyah=137&amp;Language=2&amp;LanguageID=2&amp;TranslationBook=7\">here<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">5.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Verse 141:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\"><strong>\u201cFor it is He Who raised<a href=\"#_ftn5\" id=\"_ftnref5\"><sup>1<\/sup><\/a> gardens, (some) with <a>arched vegetation as canopy<\/a>,<a href=\"#_ftn6\" id=\"_ftnref6\"><sup>2<\/sup><\/a>&nbsp;and (others) without arched vegetation as canopy \u2013 and the palms, and the plants of different edibles\/flavors, and the olive, and the pomegranate- (some) similar and (others) dissimilar.&nbsp;&nbsp;Eat of its fruit when it bears fruit, and grant its due (to the needy) at the time\/on the day of harvest, and do not commit excess; indeed, He loves not The Excessive\/ al Musrifeen!\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">What a beautiful verse, which tells us what we were given on one hand, and how to enjoy it by sharing with others without committing excess (either by wasting the bounty, or by overindulgence).<a href=\"#_ftn7\" id=\"_ftnref7\"><sup>[5]<\/sup><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">6.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Our last verse in today\u2019s Reading goes back to the subject of Livestock, An\u2019aam, which are also of His bounty given to us for their use and their meat.&nbsp;&nbsp;Verse 142 indicates that, of these Livestock, some are for burden\/carriage and some are for their meat or wool,<a href=\"#_ftn8\" id=\"_ftnref8\"><sup>[6]<\/sup><\/a>and that we should eat of what God has provided and <em>not follow the mis-steps\/ footsteps of the Deviant\/Sheytaan<\/em>, for he is, to us, an evident enemy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">The Qur\u2019an shows us what are considered \u2018<a href=\"https:\/\/tanzil.net\/#search\/quran\/%D8%AA%D8%AA%D8%A8%D8%B9%D9%88%D8%A7%20%D8%AE%D8%B7%D9%88%D8%A7%D8%AA%20%D8%A7%D9%84%D8%B4%D9%8A%D8%B7%D8%A7%D9%86\">the missteps of the Deviant\/Sheytaan.\u2019<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\"><strong>Our next Reading is from HQ6:143-151<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\"><strong>Peace unto all!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\" \/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\"><a href=\"#_ftnref1\" id=\"_ftn1\">[1]<\/a> The \u2018Warners\u2019 often were Messengers. &nbsp;Our beloved Messenger \ufdfa was both a \u2018Bearer of Glad Tidings\/Basheer\u2019 and a Warner\/Natheer.\u2019 <a href=\"https:\/\/tanzil.net\/#search\/quran\/%D8%A8%D8%B4%D9%8A%D8%B1%20%D9%86%D8%B0%D9%8A%D8%B1\">Quite a few verses speak of that<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">In HQ35:24&nbsp; there is additional information which assures us that every \u2018community\/nation\/ummah\u2019 was sent a warner!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">\u0625\u0650\u0646\u064e\u0651\u0627 \u0623\u064e\u0631\u0652\u0633\u064e\u0644\u0652\u0646\u064e\u0627\u0643\u064e \u0628\u0650\u0627\u0644\u0652\u062d\u064e\u0642\u0650\u0651 \u0628\u064e\u0634\u0650\u064a\u0631\u064b\u0627 \u0648\u064e\u0646\u064e\u0630\u0650\u064a\u0631\u064b\u0627 \u0648\u064e\u0625\u0650\u0646 \u0645\u0650\u0651\u0646\u0652 \u0623\u064f\u0645\u064e\u0651\u0629\u064d \u0625\u0650\u0644\u064e\u0651\u0627 \u062e\u064e\u0644\u064e\u0627 \u0641\u0650\u064a\u0647\u064e\u0627 \u0646\u064e\u0630\u0650\u064a\u0631\u064c \u200e\ufd3f\u0641\u0627\u0637\u0631: \u0662\u0664\ufd3e\u200f<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\"><a href=\"#_ftnref2\" id=\"_ftn2\">[2]<\/a> Regarding Verse 138, read Ali\u2019s note <a href=\"https:\/\/www.altafsir.com\/ViewTranslations.asp?Display=yes&amp;SoraNo=6&amp;Ayah=138&amp;toAyah=138&amp;Language=2&amp;LanguageID=2&amp;TranslationBook=4\">here<\/a>, and Asad\u2019s note<a href=\"https:\/\/www.altafsir.com\/ViewTranslations.asp?Display=yes&amp;SoraNo=6&amp;Ayah=138&amp;toAyah=138&amp;Language=2&amp;LanguageID=2&amp;TranslationBook=7\"> here<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\"><a href=\"#_ftnref3\" id=\"_ftn3\">[3]<\/a> For what their tongues falsely describe, as <a href=\"https:\/\/tanzil.net\/#16:116\">in 16:116.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\"><a href=\"#_ftnref4\" id=\"_ftn4\">[4]<\/a> And the easiest way is by giving a spin to familiar \u2018names;\u2019 when a beautiful word such as \u2018integrity\u2019 is now used for machinery and data, replacing <a>what once was <\/a>principled humanity, and the word \u2018escort\u2019 is now used for high-end prostitutes, replacing what once was the genteel practice of being accompanied, and \u2018love\u2019 is now used for all kinds of illicit acts replacing what once meant deep, heartfelt commitment\u2026 humanity\u2019s principles become diluted and people are made to accept, even seek, the unacceptable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">Many Arabic words have similarly taken such twists amongst Muslims, such as the word \u2018Hijab\u2019 given to what is in reality a \u2018khimar\/woman\u2019s head cover;\u2019 by using the word \u2018hijab\u2019 many have made it into a \u2018barrier\/screen,\u2019 which is what the word means.&nbsp; The Urdu language takes this issue a huge step further by calling women \u2018\u0639\u0648\u0631\u062a Aurat\/ \u2018\u0639\u0648\u0631\u0629 which makes her very presence an \u2018exposure,\u2019 a weakness, as the word \u2018awra\u2019 is used in the Qur\u2019an.&nbsp; This word seems to have entered Urdu through Persian, <a href=\"https:\/\/abadis.ir\/fatofa\/%D8%B9%D9%88%D8%B1%D8%AA\/\">where one connotation seems to be that of a woman<\/a> (although Persians do not call women\u2019 awrat\u2019).&nbsp; In common Arabic usage the word is not only about \u2018exposure,\u2019 but also about a body\u2019s nakedness, and one\u2019s private parts.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">Misnaming something\/someone ALWAYS reflects upon your behavior in its regard:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">Now, realizing that a woman is a \u2018awrat\u2019 to Urdu-speaking men, can we still be surprised to find some men \u2018hiding\u2019 her at home or mistreating her?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">Yet misusing names is a human affliction, working both ends of the same coin, gripping society psychologically and making people lose their balance and tilt towards an extreme. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">The work of influencers has always begun with words. Descriptions. Attributes. Names.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">I recall here <a href=\"https:\/\/www.halaltube.com\/hamza-yusuf-the-concept-of-isnad\">Sheykh Hamza Yusuf<\/a> (@20:30) speaking of how early Muslim women never wore black until a poor Iraqi merchant in Medina needed to sell the bulk of the new black fabric he had.&nbsp; No one was interested until a famous poet wrote a poem <em>describing<\/em> how beautiful the women looked in black:&nbsp; DESCRIPTION = WASF (which each of us shall be recompensed for).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">Needless to say, the merchant sold all his ware, with demand for more.&nbsp; Successful marketing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\"><a href=\"#_ftnref5\" id=\"_ftn5\">1<\/a><strong>\u2018ansha\u2019a\/to raise, from root-verb nasha\u2019a.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">&nbsp;<strong>\u0646\u0634\u0623<\/strong>:&nbsp;&nbsp;\u064a\u062f\u0644\u064f\u0651 \u0639\u0644\u0649
