{"id":493,"date":"2021-11-21T23:00:00","date_gmt":"2021-11-21T19:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/iqralaan.wordpress.com\/?p=493"},"modified":"2022-12-30T09:27:33","modified_gmt":"2022-12-30T05:27:33","slug":"welcome-friends-day-84-quran-7-117-137-pages-165166","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/iqraprinciple.com\/ar\/welcome-friends-day-84-quran-7-117-137-pages-165166\/","title":{"rendered":"HQ 7:117-137, pages 165+166"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">Welcome Friends:&nbsp;&nbsp;<em>Ahlan wa sahlan<\/em>!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">In our last Reading we encountered the topic of \u2018magic,\u2019 and realized the&nbsp;Qur\u2019an defined it as \u2018visual deception\u2019 plus apprehension \u0631\u0647\u0628\u0629 \/rahbah.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">This shows us the importance of COGNIZANCE (being cognizant both of the deception AND cognizant of the Arabic meaning of words).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\"><strong>COMMENTS:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\"><strong>PAGE&nbsp;<\/strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.altafsir.com\/Quran.asp?SoraNo=7&amp;Ayah=122&amp;NewPage=0&amp;Tajweed=1\"><strong>165<\/strong><\/a><strong>:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">1.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Verses 117-120 (page 164) quite briefly describe&nbsp;what Moses did, and how Pharaoh and his chieftains were impacted, and the surprising reaction of the Magicians.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">In just a few words we learn that Moses threw his staff and it swallowed up their \u2018falsehoods\/deceptions\u2019 (Ali\/Asad); that truth was \u2018confirmed\/established,\u2019 and vain were their deeds; and that they were utterly vanquished and demeaned.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">Then in only three, highly expressive words, we are told that the Magicians threw themselves to the ground, prostrating&nbsp;79:2 (\u0648\u0623\u0644\u0642\u064a \u0627\u0644\u0633\u062d\u0631\u0629 \u0633\u0627\u062c\u062f\u064a\u0646)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">And they said: \u201c<strong>We have Faith (and Trust) in the Lord-Sustainer of the Worlds.&nbsp;&nbsp;The Lord-Sustainer of Moses and Aaron!\u201d<\/strong>&nbsp;(Verses 120-121, page 165.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\"><strong><em>What happened?<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\"><em>The Magicians immediately realized, as Asad says&nbsp;in note 89, that \u201cthe act of Moses was a genuine miracle, whereas that of the sorcerers was a feat of make-believe.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\"><em>2.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/em>Verses 123-126 narrate the exchange that subsequently took place between Pharaoh and the Magicians, and we note the gravity and splendor of the latter\u2019s transformation into most ardent men of faith, exemplary in their fortitude and forbearance!&nbsp;&nbsp; They meet Pharaoh\u2019s vow of dire <a href=\"http:\/\/www.altafsir.com\/ViewTranslations.asp?Display=yes&amp;SoraNo=7&amp;Ayah=124&amp;toAyah=124&amp;Language=2&amp;LanguageID=2&amp;TranslationBook=7\">consequences<\/a> with a resigned, calm attitude of forbearance, announcing to everyone that they are turning back\/reverting\/returning to&nbsp;<em>their<\/em>&nbsp;Lord-Sustainer (God), in defiance of Pharaoh\u2019s assertion that HE was their Highest Lord (HQ 79:24).&nbsp; This announcement that indeed to their Lord-Sustainer they are \u2018munqaliboon\/\u0645\u0646\u0642\u0644\u0628\u0648\u0646\u2019 is quite a literal spiritual return and a physical <em>overturn<\/em>,<a href=\"#_ftn1\" id=\"_ftnref1\"><sup>[1]<\/sup><\/a> which the Qur\u2019an reaffirmed on their behalf in HQ26:50.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">But this statement appears three times in the Qur\u2019an: Twice as the words of the magicians as we noted above, <em>and once as part of the prayer (Du\u2019aa of Safar\/Travel) which WE are taught to say <\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/tanzil.net\/#43:13\"><em>(HQ43:13-14<\/em><\/a><em>) whenever we get on board a vehicle or onto a mount to go somewhere.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">&nbsp;<strong>\u0633\u064f\u0628\u0652\u062d\u064e\u0627\u0646\u064e \u0627\u0644\u064e\u0651\u0630\u0650\u064a \u0633\u064e\u062e\u064e\u0651\u0631\u064e \u0644\u064e\u0646\u064e\u0627 \u0647\u064e\u0630\u064e\u0627 \u0648\u064e\u0645\u064e\u0627 \u0643\u064f\u0646\u064e\u0651\u0627 \u0644\u064e\u0647\u064f \u0645\u064f\u0642\u0652\u0631\u0650\u0646\u0650\u064a\u0646\u064e \u0648\u064e\u0625\u0650\u0646\u064e\u0651\u0627 \u0625\u0650\u0644\u064e\u0649 \u0631\u064e\u0628\u0650\u0651\u0646\u064e\u0627 \u0644\u064e\u0645\u064f\u0646\u0652\u0642\u064e\u0644\u0650\u0628\u064f\u0648\u0646<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">\u201c<em>Subhaan-allathi sakh-khara lana haatha wama kunna lahu muqrineena wa inna ila Rabbina La-munqaliboon\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">Our Lord-Sustainer is our true direction, no matter to which \u2018direction\u2019 we may seem to be facing!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">To Him is our journey, towards Him it has always been, for it is He to Whom is all motivation, all TasbeeH, whether we Cognizant Humans realize this and do so willingly or unwillingly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">Such an announcement made willingly by our tongue and with full conviction of heart\/mind serves to reassure us at the level of our FiTrah\/natural, inborn disposition, maintaining the wellness of our complete Being, and putting us in sync with God\u2019s Creation.&nbsp; Nothing is as rejuvenating as tapping into our pre-ageing, pre-natal, pre-worldly source!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">They then inform Pharaoh that his eagerness to hurt them was simply because of his need to avenge himself seeing that -as soon as their Lord-Sustainer\u2019s Signs appeared to them, they had faith and trust in them!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">And they make a most beautiful supplication to their Lord, in anticipation of what they shall face of suffering and imminent death.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">Their supplication is worth memorizing:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">\u0631\u0628\u0646\u0627 \u0623\u0641\u0631\u063a \u0639\u0644\u064a\u0646\u0627 \u0635\u0628\u0631\u0627\u064b \u0648\u062a\u0648\u0641\u0646\u0627 \u0645\u0633\u0644\u0645\u064a\u0646<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">Rabbana afrigh \u2018\u0639alayna Sabran wa tawafana muslimeen\u2026!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\"><strong>\u201cOur Lord-Sustainer! Pour upon us patient Forbearance, and deliver us unto You, Muslims (pure in reverence)!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\"><em>3.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/em>Verses 127-128 holds Pharaoh\u2019s voiced plans against Moses and Bani Isra-eel, and Moses\u2019 response as he encouraged his people to be patient and forbearing, informing them that the consequence\/outcome&nbsp;\u0639\u0627\u0642\u0628\u0629&nbsp;\/ \u0639aaqibah is always FOR (the benefit of) the Aware.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\"><em>Remember the distinction of the preposition \u2018li\u2019(<\/em>\u0644<em>)<\/em><em>&nbsp;<\/em><em>or <\/em><em>\u2018<\/em><em>for,<\/em><em>\u2019<\/em><em> in front of the word, as discussed on <\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/wordpress.com\/post\/iqralaan.wordpress.com\/404\">Blog Post Day 65<\/a><em>?&nbsp;&nbsp;It indicates something in someone\u2019s favor- not against them.&nbsp;&nbsp;Put&nbsp;<\/em>\u0639\u0627\u0642\u0628\u0629<em>&nbsp;<\/em><em>in<\/em><em>&nbsp;<\/em><a href=\"http:\/\/tanzil.info\/\"><em>Tanzil<\/em><\/a><em>&#8211; <\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/tanzil.net\/#search\/quran\/%D8%B9%D8%A7%D9%82%D8%A8%D8%A9\"><em>notice the contrary cases<\/em><\/a><em> when there is no \u2018li\u2019\/for!&nbsp;&nbsp;When we put the following to<\/em>gether \u0644 \u0627\u0644\u0639\u0627\u0642\u0628\u0629<em>&nbsp;<\/em><em> <\/em><em>in Tanzil &nbsp;you will find out for whom else, besides the Aware, the outcome will be.<\/em><em>&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/tanzil.net\/#search\/quran\/%D9%84%20%D8%A7%D9%84%D8%B9%D8%A7%D9%82%D8%A8%D8%A9\"><em>You will notice that it is: for no one else!<\/em><\/a><em> The outcome always is- only is-<\/em><em>&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/em><em>for the Aware (3 times) and for Awareness (once)!<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\"><em>4.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/em>Verse 129 holds his people\u2019s response, which Asad describes in note 93 as the \u201cfirst hint of their inconstancy and weakness of faith..\u201d&nbsp;to which Moses again ends his statement by prodding them, saying that God observes how they are performing\/working.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">Verse 130 mentions one scourge sent upon Pharaoh and his people: drought, and its aftermath.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">5.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Verses 131-132 relay the conversations of Pharaoh and his people, and their <a href=\"http:\/\/www.altafsir.com\/ViewTranslations.asp?Display=yes&amp;SoraNo=7&amp;Ayah=131&amp;toAyah=131&amp;Language=2&amp;LanguageID=2&amp;TranslationBook=7\">superstitious thoughts<\/a>&nbsp;against Moses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">Notice the stubborn arrogance of <a href=\"https:\/\/tanzil.net\/#search\/quran\/%22%D8%A2%D9%84%20%D9%81%D8%B1%D8%B9%D9%88%D9%86%22\">Pharoah\u2019s \u2018people\/ aal\/ \u0622\u0644&#8217;<\/a> shown in their response to Moses, peace upon him, in Verse 132.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">The word \u2018Aal\/\u0622\u0644\u2019 is one we have seen in reference to Aal Imraan &nbsp;and Aal Ibraheem, which is about returning something to its first reference, as we mentioned on Day 80.<a href=\"#_ftn2\" id=\"_ftnref2\"><sup>[2]<\/sup><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">Verse&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.altafsir.com\/ViewTranslations.asp?Display=yes&amp;SoraNo=7&amp;Ayah=133&amp;toAyah=133&amp;Language=2&amp;LanguageID=2&amp;TranslationBook=4\">133<\/a>&nbsp;lists 5 scourges sent against them, as part of the nine Signs God sent them <a href=\"https:\/\/tanzil.net\/#search\/quran\/%D8%AA%D8%B3%D8%B9%20%D8%A2%D9%8A%D8%A7%D8%AA\">(HQ17:101; 27:12<\/a>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">In Verses 134-135, they tell Moses to ask HIS (!) Lord &nbsp;to lift the scourges, promising that if he did that, they would extend their faith and trust to him\/laka&nbsp; (meaning they would believe him as Messenger of God),<a href=\"#_ftn3\" id=\"_ftnref3\"><sup>[3]<\/sup><\/a> AND would send Bani Isra-eel with him as well.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">But when God lifted the scourges they went back on their word.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">6.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Verse 136 describes their drowning, citing two reasons for such an end:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">Belying\/denying God\u2019s Signs AND remaining Heedless of them!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">7.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Verse 137 shows us how the people who were being downtrodden inherited the far reaches of the blessed land (blessed\/mubaarak is that in which there is abiding benefit).<a href=\"#_ftn4\" id=\"_ftnref4\"><sup>[4]<\/sup><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">And God\u2019s word was fulfilled upon Bani Isra-eel for their patient forbearance.&nbsp;&nbsp;As for Pharaoh and his people, all that they had contrived\/fabricated\/constructed&nbsp;(\u0635\u0646\u0639)<a href=\"#_ftn5\" id=\"_ftnref5\"><sup>[5]<\/sup><\/a> was destroyed together with all the buildings he and his people had raised (see Arabic definition&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/iqrathechallenge.blogspot.com\/2010\/04\/day-80-quran-7-52-64-pages-157158.html\">\u064a\u0639\u0631\u0634\u0648\u0646<\/a>&nbsp;\/ya\u2019\u0639rishoon from the root word \u2018\u0639arasha \u2019- see <a href=\"https:\/\/iqralaan.wordpress.com\/wp-admin\/post.php?post=471&amp;action=edit&amp;calypsoify=1&amp;block-editor=1&amp;frame-nonce=56df6bf4e4&amp;origin=https%3A%2F%2Fwordpress.com&amp;environment-id=production&amp;support_user&amp;_support_token\">Blog Post Day 80<\/a>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\"><em>Note:&nbsp;&nbsp;In order to keep to Contextual and linguistic definitions and understand the Qur\u2019an with an open mind- we must not be influenced by any preconception or Biblical narratives.
