(45)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\"><strong>And&nbsp;<u>obey God and His Messenger <\/u>and&nbsp;<u>do not contend against one another\/ <\/u><\/strong><strong><u>\u0648\u0644\u0627<\/u><\/strong><strong><u> <\/u><\/strong><strong><u>\u062a\u0646\u0627\u0632\u0639\u0648\u0627<\/u><\/strong><strong><u>\/wa la tanaaza\u2019<\/u><\/strong><strong><u>\u0639<\/u><\/strong><strong><u>u<\/u><\/strong><strong> <a href=\"#_ftn2\" id=\"_ftnref2\"><sup><strong><sup>[2]<\/sup><\/strong><\/sup><\/a>&nbsp;thereby weakening (in strength and courage) \/<\/strong><strong>\u0641\u062a\u0641\u0634\u0644\u0648\u0627<\/strong><strong> <\/strong><strong>\/fa tafshalu <a href=\"#_ftn3\" id=\"_ftnref3\"><sup><strong><sup>[3]<\/sup><\/strong><\/sup><\/a> and causing the departure of your advantage&nbsp;&nbsp;over them,&nbsp;<u>and patiently persevere<\/u>, indeed God Is with those who patiently persevere!\u201d (8:46)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">These instructions are for all time (not just during battle).&nbsp;&nbsp;These commands help people of faith navigate successfully through ANY threatening circumstance and then EMERGE ON TOP:&nbsp;&nbsp;with steadfastness, remembrance of God, obedience to Him and His Messenger, and with togetherness, and perseverance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">These were two recipes; the recipe for success and the recipe for failure.&nbsp;&nbsp;The choice is ours!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">2.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;The next two verses describe the tribe of Qureish, and the way in which the Deviant\/Al Sheytaan embellishes people\u2019s deeds, then leaves such persons to face God alone, while he disassociates himself from them.&nbsp;&nbsp;It is interesting to hear his argument, in that&nbsp;<em>he knows what they don\u2019t<\/em>&nbsp;know, and&nbsp;<em>that he fears God&nbsp;<\/em>who is severe in meting out consequence!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">Read it in both&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.altafsir.com\/ViewTranslations.asp?Display=yes&amp;SoraNo=8&amp;Ayah=48&amp;toAyah=48&amp;Language=2&amp;LanguageID=2&amp;TranslationBook=4\">Ali<\/a>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.altafsir.com\/ViewTranslations.asp?Display=yes&amp;SoraNo=8&amp;Ayah=48&amp;toAyah=48&amp;Language=2&amp;LanguageID=2&amp;TranslationBook=7\">Asad\u2019s<\/a> explanations, bearing in mind that we already heard about Satan\u2019s false promises in Q4:120:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\"><strong>\u064a\u064e\u0639\u0650\u062f\u064f\u0647\u064f\u0645\u0652 \u0648\u064e\u064a\u064f\u0645\u064e\u0646\u0650\u0651\u064a\u0647\u0650\u0645\u0652 \u0648\u064e\u0645\u064e\u0627 \u064a\u064e\u0639\u0650\u062f\u064f\u0647\u064f\u0645\u064f \u0627\u0644\u0634\u064e\u0651\u064a\u0652\u0637\u064e\u0627\u0646\u064f \u0625\u0650\u0644\u064e\u0651\u0627 \u063a\u064f\u0631\u064f\u0648\u0631\u064b\u0627<\/strong> \u200e\ufd3f\u0627\u0644\u0646\u0633\u0627\u0621: \u0661\u0662\u0660\ufd3e\u200f<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">Y. Ali:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">\u201c<strong>Satan makes them promises and creates in them false desires; but Satan&#8217;s promises are nothing but deception<\/strong>.\u201d (120)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">Muhammad Asad:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">\u201c<strong>He holds out promises to them and fills them with vain desires: yet whatever Satan promises them is but meant to delude the mind<\/strong>.\u201d (120)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">3.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Verse 49 responds to what two groups are saying:&nbsp;&nbsp;The first group is the Hypocrites, and the second group is \u2018Those in whose hearts\/minds is a Disease,\u2019 which is understood to refer to those whose hearts\/minds waver, having not wholeheartedly accepted the faith.&nbsp;&nbsp;See&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.altafsir.com\/ViewTranslations.asp?Display=yes&amp;SoraNo=8&amp;Ayah=49&amp;toAyah=49&amp;Language=2&amp;LanguageID=2&amp;TranslationBook=4\">Ali<\/a>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.altafsir.com\/ViewTranslations.asp?Display=yes&amp;SoraNo=8&amp;Ayah=49&amp;toAyah=49&amp;Language=2&amp;LanguageID=2&amp;TranslationBook=7\">Asad<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">Perhaps we should add that they also suffer from malice against the people of Faith, seeing that the Qur\u2019an did say in Q47:29<a href=\"#_ftn4\" id=\"_ftnref4\"><sup>[4]<\/sup><\/a> that people in whose hearts is a disease have hidden malice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">4.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Verses 50-51 give us a horrifying peek into the end of life as it will be for those who Denied; they struggle against the Custodians\/Angels who bring them \u2018wafaat\/death,\u2019 telling them to taste the deeds they had sent forth (see <a href=\"https:\/\/iqralaan.wordpress.com\/2021\/09\/19\/welcome-friends-day-70-hq691-99-pages-139140\/\">Blog Post Day 70<\/a> Posting of&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/iqrathechallenge.blogspot.com\/2010\/03\/day-70-hq691-99-pages-139140.html\">March 26<sup>th<\/sup><\/a>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">Note that this verse is identical to Verses 3:182 and 22:10, and is one of five where God calls blameworthy people in the Hereafter \u2018Abeed\/ slave-servants,\u2019 for in the Hereafter there is no freedom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">In life however, all people are \u2018Ibaad\/ worshippers,\u2019 whether they worship Him voluntarily or not, and none will be wronged, as seen in Q40:31:<a href=\"#_ftn5\" id=\"_ftnref5\"><sup>[5]<\/sup><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\"><strong>\u0648\u064e\u0645\u064e\u0627 \u0627\u0644\u0644\u064e\u0651\u0647\u064f \u064a\u064f\u0631\u0650\u064a\u062f\u064f \u0638\u064f\u0644\u0652\u0645\u064b\u0627 \u0644\u0650\u0651\u0644\u0652\u0639\u0650\u0628\u064e\u0627\u062f\u0650<\/strong><strong>&#8230;..&#8221;<\/strong><strong>\u2026..\u201d \u201c\u2026.. God does not intend (and initiate) the wronging of the worshippers<\/strong>\u2026..\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">Verses 52 and 54 are about the People of Pharaoh, and those prior to them; how they denied God\u2019s Signs and had to suffer the consequence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\"><strong>5.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/strong>Verse 53, is a statement of FACT, positioned in between the narrative of the People of Pharaoh and those prior to them.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">This verse shows us something very important:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">It shows us Humanity\u2019s DEFAULT state (as explained by Asad):<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\"><strong>\u201cThis, because God would never change the blessings with which He has graced a people unless they change their inner selves: and [know] that God is all-hearing, all-knowing.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">In <a href=\"https:\/\/www.altafsir.com\/ViewTranslations.asp?Display=yes&amp;SoraNo=13&amp;Ayah=11&amp;toAyah=11&amp;Language=2&amp;LanguageID=2&amp;TranslationBook=7\">his commentary&nbsp; <\/a>&nbsp;on&nbsp; another verse, <a href=\"https:\/\/tanzil.net\/#13:11\">Q13:11 (which contains a similar statement<\/a>), Asad says:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\"><em>\u201cLit., \u201cthat which is in themselves.\u201d This statement has both a positive and a negative connotation: i.e., God does not withdraw His blessings from men unless their inner selves become depraved (cf. 8:53), just as He does not bestow His blessings upon willful sinners until they change their inner disposition and become worthy of His grace. In its wider sense, this is an illustration of the divine law of cause and effect (sunnat All\u0101h) which dominates the lives of both individuals and communities, and makes the rise and fall of civilizations dependent on people\u2019s moral qualities and the changes in \u201ctheir inner selves.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">This shows us that our default state, the state in which we were created and would revert to- if not for any bad choices we make- is a STATE OF BLESSING.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\"><strong>Human Innocence PLUS Blessings from God are the default of our existence,<\/strong> <strong>a very important distinction that&nbsp;<em>we should<\/em>&nbsp;<em>make.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\"><strong>6.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/strong>Verses 55-59 are addressed to Prophet Muhammad, peace upon him, and relate to Those who Denied and their breaking of covenants, as explained by&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.altafsir.com\/ViewTranslations.asp?Display=yes&amp;SoraNo=8&amp;Ayah=56&amp;toAyah=56&amp;Language=2&amp;LanguageID=2&amp;TranslationBook=7\">Asad<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\"><strong>7.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/strong>Verses 60-61 add one final command to our \u2018Recipe for Success\u2019 (verses 45-46), namely maintaining a DETERRENCE to ever becoming oppressed by others.&nbsp;&nbsp;Being \u2018battle-prepared\u2019 at all times happens to be the best way to achieve a just peace! (Explained below by&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.altafsir.com\/ViewTranslations.asp?Display=yes&amp;SoraNo=8&amp;Ayah=60&amp;toAyah=60&amp;Language=2&amp;LanguageID=2&amp;TranslationBook=7\">Asad<\/a>):<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\"><strong>\u201cHence, make ready against them whatever force and war mounts you are able to muster, so that you might deter thereby the enemies of God, who are your enemies as well, and others besides them of whom you may be unaware, [but] of whom God is aware;
